Working here
We build the system people rely on to prove an agreement was signed. That shapes the work: careful about data, honest about limitations, and unenthusiastic about shipping something we would not want holding our own contracts.
Small scope, real ownership
Few enough people that you will see your work in front of customers quickly, and own it once it is there.
Correctness over volume
A signature that cannot be verified is worse than no signature. We would rather ship less and be sure of it.
Close to the customer
Conveyancers, small practices and trades. Their feedback reaches whoever is building the thing, directly.
Open roles
We do not have any advertised vacancies at the moment.
That said, we read speculative applications properly and keep good ones on file. If you work on something in this space and think there is a fit, tell us what you have built and what you would want to work on.
Applying speculatively
Send a short note to careers@initialandsign.com covering:
- What you would want to work on here, and why this problem interests you
- Something you have built that you are willing to talk through in detail
- Where you are based and how you prefer to work
A short, specific note beats a long generic one. There is no need for a covering letter written to impress a filter — a person reads these.
How we hire
An initial conversation, a practical exercise based on the kind of work the role actually involves, and a longer technical discussion. We pay for substantial take-home work, and we will tell you where you stand rather than going quiet.
Not hiring right now?
The most useful thing you can do is use the product and tell us where it falls short. Several improvements have come from exactly that.
